16.4.2023 – 26.4.2023: 2532nd shankara Jayanti mahotsavam: veda parayanam, acharyal puja

Sri Jagadhguru Veda Parayana Trust is celebrating the 2532nd Jayanti of Shankara Bhagavatpadal this year, for a period of 11 days from 16.4.2023 to 26.4.2023. The programme includes several homams performed for the well-being of the world. Those desirous of participating in specific kamya homams are welcome to do so.

The programme includes Rigveda Krama Parayanam, Chaturveda parayanam, Prasthana traya bhashya parayanam, Abhishekam, Aaradhana, Upanyasams and Nama sankirtanam at Ayodhya Mandapam, West Mambalam.

Budget: ₹25 lakhs (approx.), for Chaturveda Parayanam, Acharyal Puja (all six days) and procession (on Shankara Jayanti day).

We pray for Acharyal Anugraham for the entire nation and the world and for the health and well-being of all.

The trustees, led by Brahmashri K. Y. Bharaneedhara Sastrigal, secretary of the above trust and a popular exponent of upanyasas, are pioneering an effort to support the vaidikas and pray for the well-being of all during this pandemic. 

With the blessings of Moolāmnāya Sarvajña Kanchi Kamkoti PīṭhādhipatiHis Holiness Sri Sri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswati Swamigal, the trust is raising funds for Chaturveda Parayanam and Acharyal puja on the very special occasion of Shankara Jayanti. 

ABOUT Sri JagadHguru Vedaparayana Trust

Established by the Moolāmnāya Sarvajña Kanchi Kamkoti Pīṭhādhipatis, HH Sri Sri Jayendra Saraswati Swamigal and HH Sri Sri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswati Swamigal two decades ago, the trust has been conducting various dharmic activities including: 

  • Veda pārāyanams in places such as Prayagraj, Rameswaram, etc
  • Ghana and Samhitā pārāyanams at various places

  1. In 2021, SJVP Trust supported a number of vaidikas, pujakas etc. and also organised an Indrakshi Japam and Moksha deepam for the departed souls during the tragic pandemic.
  2. In 2020, SJVP Trust supported 377 vaidikas, gurukkals, pujaris during Shankara Jayanthi (April 2020). The trust disbursed ₹22,49,500  –details of which can be found here
  3. In 2020, SJVP Trust supported 550+ priests associated with the Tiruchendur Murugan Temple in an ongoing campaign – details of which can be found here.
