Background

Kariyamangalam Sri Sowndaryanayaki Sametha Sri Agastheeswara Swamy Temple is located at the  Kariyamangalam village, Mannargudi Taluk, Thiruvarur district.

The deities in the above temple have been blessing the devotees for over 1000 years. Lord Sri Rama, Lord Murugan, Sri Agasthya Maha munivar have visited here and conducted pooja to Lord Siva and Ambal.

Thirukulam and Harischandra river are punya theerthams of this temple. This kshetram is near Irulneeki village, birth place of His Holiness Sri Sri Sri Jayendra Saraswati Shankaracharya Swamigal.

Details of the campaign

With the blessings of His Holiness Kanchi Kamakoti Peetadhipati Sri Sri Sri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswati Swamigal, the renovation of this temple is being organized. Sri Karya Siddhi Vinayagar, Sri Murugar, Sri Ambal sannidhis are nearing completion. The Sivan sannidhi garbhagriham, artha mandapam, maha mandapam, Sri Chandikeswara Swami sannidhi, compund wall and Raja Gopuram work have to be started and completed.
