That the lockdown has impacted the livelihood of Vaidikas across the country is known to all of us. The junior Vaidikas are bearing the brunt of this even more. Gatherings which now have resumed with a restricted head count means the junior Vaidikas who typically go to events as assistants are left out.
With marriage halls and apartments too have restrictions on the number of Vaidikas attending functions, the situation of the junior Vaidikas is indeed one that deserves a helping hand.
This campaign looks to support 50 such junior Vaidikas across the country, most of whom have recently graduated from Veda patasalas. They will be provided a Sambavanai of ₹4,000 per head.
We request you to support these true bearers of Dharma!
UPDATE: It has been decided that the campaign will support 24 as the trust has opined that the restrictions being lifted has eased the situation.
Vaidikas need to be valued – not only because they are custodians of the Vedas and thus our dharma, but also they chose a life of hardship for the larger good of the society. They have willingly no assurances of a well-being for the life of a Vaidika is one of regimen and sacrifice. All these children have the easier option of taking up mainstream education, earn degrees and thereby an assured livelihood.
The COVID lockdown has put them in a spot. Most of them work as assistants to senior Vaidikas and do not have a clientele of their own. Now with the restrictions in place due to COVID and much fewer religious events taking place, they are under financial duress.
This campaign looks to support 24 such very junior Vaidikas – the future custodians of our Dharma!
UPDATE: It has been decided that the campaign will support 24 as the trust has opined that the restrictions being lifted has eased the situation.
