Background

The Bangaru Kamakshi Amman temple in Thanjavur has requested our support for Annadhanam during Navarathri as ordained by His Holiness Sri Sri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal, Shankaracharya of the Moolamnaya Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam. The Bangaru Kamakshi Amman, is said to have originated from the 3rd eye of the Kanchi Kamakshi Amman, is made of Gold – thus “Bangaru” (which means gold) Kamakshi Amman. His Holiness had instructed Shri. Sabararivasan, of the Sthanikar family to conduct Annadhanam and Sayaraksha prasadam during all 9 days in the temple.
It is estimated that 60 Vaidikas and 200 people will be attending the event.

Due to recent communications from Shri Sabarivasan, we have closed the kainkaryam with a target of Rs. 50,000.
