Background<\/h4>

A very unique temple that houses the Paduka of Shri. Adhi Shankara Bhagavath Paadal installed by His Holiness Paramacharya Sri. Sri. Chandrashekarendra Saraswathi Swamigal,<\/strong> 68th Acharya of the Moolanmya Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam, requires support for Kumbabishekam. The Kumbaishekam is being conducted on March 4, 2022.\u00a0<\/p>

The Shri. Adhi Shankara Bhagavath Padaal Padhugai Temple in the town of Walajahpet (near Vellore) in Tamil Nadu, after multiple delays due to COVID is undergoing Kumbabishekam on March 4, 2022.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>

This campaign focuses on supporting the\u00a0 Kumbabishekam towards:<\/p>

  1. Sambavanai (dakshinai) for the Vaidikas who will be conducting the kumbabishekam.\u00a0<\/li>
  2. Sponsoring Nadaswaram and Vaazha Maram (banana tree) expenses.\u00a0<\/li><\/ol>

    Significance of this cause<\/h4>

    In March 1984, all the three Acharyas of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam, His Holiness Shri. Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi Swamigal, His Holiness Shri. Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal and His Holiness Shri. Shankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal camped in the town of Walajahpet in Tamil Nadu.\u00a0<\/p>

    On 22nd March 1984, the holy trinity of Acharayas of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam installed a Shri Padhuka (in stone) of Shri. Adhi Shankara Bhagavath Paadal.\u00a0<\/p>

    Ever since this temple has had the Shri Padhuka of Shri Adhi Shankara as the presiding deity. Existing in a modest shed till now the decision to construct a temple for the same along with Kumbabishekam was taken recently by the managing trustees. After seeking the blessings of\u00a0 Peetadipathi of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam, His Holiness\u00a0 Shri. Shankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal in 2019, the balalayam was performed.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

    The adhi sankarar Charitable trust’s effort<\/h4>

    The temple which was in a very modest state till last year, has been cleaned (with bushes cleared) and a small shelter was erected for devotees to assemble.\u00a0<\/p>

    This trust was formed to perform daily rituals, special events and ensure the construction of a temple for the paduka.The members of the trust have recently met His Holiness Shri. Shankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal in Chennai and sought His blessings regarding the proposal. The Balayam was installed on December 6th 2019 with constructions proceeding in full -swing after the lockdown.\u00a0<\/p>

    The temple is now ready for the kumbabishekam on March 4th, 2020. Our donors have kindly contributed Rs. 96,926 till date (Feb 27, 2022) which the trust has carefully preserved exclusively for the Vaidika Sambavanai – for which you all kindly donated towards.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

    Details of this campaign<\/h4>

    The kumbabishekam (consecration) of this special temple is scheduled on March 4, 2022. The trustees of the Adhi Sankarar Charitable Trust in Walajahpet seek the support of our donors for<\/p>

    1. Sambavanai (dakshinai) of vaidikas who will perform the kumbabishekam.\u00a0 The total cost is \u20b91,30,000 for 10 Vaidikas over 3 days.\u00a0 It is to be noted that this was the cost provided in 2019. The kumbabishekam is happening 3 years hence due to COVID,<\/li>
    2. They also have other last minute expenses, which include the naadaswaram (mangala vadhyam – music) which will cost Rs. 25,000 and even erecting the banana tree (vazha maram) which will cost Rs. 7000<\/li><\/ol>
